NICOLE CAUSES QUITE THE COMMOTION!

Nicole Richie was spotted at the Beverly Glen Country Mart in LA on September 5 with beau Joel Madden, making a quick stop for some fro-yo on this warm summer afternoon. To steal Nicole's easy summertime look (with a bit of fall transition creeping in), start with a great basic grey tee (like P.G.D. Style's Basic Tee in Clay) with the sleeves rolled up to your shoulders, and pair with lightwash denim shorts (for a pair that aren't as destroyed as Nicole's Abercrombie & Fitch pair, check out Joe's Jeans' Braided 5 Pocket Short in Berkley). Now for the accessories, Nicole chose a brown leather belt with turquoise and stud embellishments (very similar to Nyovee's Splendid Belt in Redwood) with an alway supercool pair of aviators (JeeVice Optics' Crybaby II Sunglasses in Silver) and an oversized black beanie (which is what I meant when I said she took a summer outfit and gave it a dash of fall style). On a side note, that yogurt sure does look tasty! Nicole is (like most other fashionistas who didn't attend the VMA's) currently in New York for Fashion Week, and attended the DKNY show, sitting front row with Christina Ricci and Winona Ryder. It seems that Little Miss Richie caused quite the commotion before the show, as one interviewer was trying to speak to Ricci, but was nearly trampled by the mad crush of photographers trying to get "that magic shot" of Nicole sitting front row. While all of this madness was occurring, Ricci tried to get out of the way, apologizing to the reporter for not being able to continue the interview, to which the report said, "It's okay, save yourself!" You've gotta love a reporter with a sense of humor- that is very rare in this day and age!

Rachel Bilson made an appearance at The Bank Club in the Bellagio Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV on September 5, as she hosted "The Ultimate Bachelorette Party," looking pretty cute as she did so. For the evening, Rachel chose a brightly patterned mini-dress, similar to options from Tricia Fix (like the Aubrey Mini Dress in Orange Medallion), LaROK (like the Tiva Dress in Multi), and Miguelina (like the Tyra Dress in Multi), with black heels and a simple black clutch (similar to Julie K Handbags' Sasha Clutch in Black Glaze). A petite pleasure! In other Rachel news, it seems that I have uncovered the way to her heart... co-star in a project with her! She is opening up to the press saying that she has a hard time not developing feelings for her male romantic co-stars, such as former flame Adam Brody and current beau Hayden Christensen. She says, "They say don't date your co-star, but that's who you're around. If you're in an office, and you see someone everyday and you click well, you'll start dating. It's the same thing." Interesting analogy! Bilson continues, "I have someone really great. Someone who can make me laugh- that's always what comes first. It's the best to be able to really, like, truly laugh with someone like they're your best friend, you know?" Sounds pretty much like she is talking about Hayden... who knew that they had such a BFF-esque rapport?

Not one to attend too many events, tiny twin Mary-Kate Olsen was spotted at the Pre-Fashion Week Dazed & Confused Magazine MINI Rooftop NYC Bash on September 4, looking fairly conservative (for her!). In a black coat (check out Laura Dahl's Keats Jacket in Noir) and black stilettos, MK accessorized with tons of bracelets (like Accessories & Beyond's Cinderella Leather Bracelet in Pink and Brian Nagourney Jewelry's Forget Me Knot Bracelet in Black) and a funky, red and grey fringed bag. Looks like 'lil MK got a haircut and some waves, too! What do you think of her look here- is she rockin' it, or do you expect a little more fashion forward edge from Mary-Kate? At the event, MKO was spotted drinking a beer and swaying to the sounds of MGMT, meeting up with friends that showed up later. Sounds like fun! In other Mary-Kate news, it seems that rumors are spreading that she cheated on her latest beau, Nate Lowman, with none other than Jonah Hill! A source says, "Olsen and Hill were spotted getting cozy at Los Angeles' Château Marmont hotel on Aug. 26- just one night after the famous twin stepped out to a rock concert with beau Nate Lowman. It was a shock to see Mary-Kate together with, of all people, geeky Jonah. Mary-Kate and Jonah sat close together and seemed totally into each other. They were both wearing plaid shirts that almost matched. It was the cutest thing. I'm sure Nate would have been floored to see the spectacle - the poor guy is being two-timed." Ouch! I wonder if there's any truth to this sighting?

Stepping up with divas from Mariah Carey to Rihanna, British newcomer Natasha Bedingfield had the privilege of taking the stage at the Fashion Rocks gala in NYC on September 5. The fashion and music themed event benefits the Stand Up to Cancer foundation, which is especially important to Nat, whose grandmother passed away from the disease when she was a kid. The show culminated with Bedingfield, Beyonce and countless other songstresses performing their new charity single en masse, “Just Stand Up.” Nat described the experience, "This is the first time we're all together singing the song. It was really special. It was really like a sisterhood, like a bond. ... We're all used to being the stars — the only star in the room — and it was really nice I think that everyone could just come together and really support each other." Supporting each other for a great cause, I might add! Sporting a very daring look, Nat swept her blonde mane to the side in a funky spiked ‘do and wore a dramatic black dress with a front slit (check out Tricia Fix’s Marilyn Long Dress in Black or the Angelina Cocktail Dress in Black) with dazzling earrings (like Castaway’s Tahitian Earrings in Gold) with funky python print heels. Looking divine in a red hot mini dress, Hayden Panettiere exercised her political prowess on August 27 by attending the Creative Coalition Gala in Denver, CO. The upcoming presidential election in November will be HP’s first chance to cast a ballot to pick the next pres, so I can see why she’s taking the Creative Coalition’s event so seriously! For her ‘fit, Hayden picked a red mini with gold details (check out the very similar design of Lotta Stensson’s Braided Sun Dress in Yellow, or nab the red hue with the Shirred Mini Tube Dress in Poppy) and stuck to the glitzy theme with her gold envelope clutch (like Carla Mancini’s flashy Small Python Clutch in Gold), sexy braided gold heels, classy diamond studs (try taking it up a notch with Rachel Leigh’s fun Triangle Stud Earrings in Topaz) with a simple charm necklace (like Maya Brenner’s The Charm-ing Necklace in Gold) and her fav swirl cuff bracelet (similar to Michele Michel’s Swirl Bracelet in Silver). Lately, HP’s been trying out a variety of new looks, from short-short mini dresses like the leopard one she donned a few weeks ago at the Trump bash to experimenting with bold red lipstick for her TRL appearance. If you recall the writer’s strike last year, Heroes was one of the shows that unfortunately ended abruptly in the middle of the season. It’s been a long wait to see how the show will continue, but the new Villians chapter should have everyone glued to the boob tube… if not just to see HP’s smiling face!

Star of "90210" and all-around seductress AnnaLynne McCord hit up Nylon Magazine's TV Issue Event featuring "90210" last night, September 4, at Tropicana Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel, sizzling in front of the cameras in a tight black leather dress. For a similar look that is a tad less S&M, check out offerings from LaROK (like the Victoria Dress in Black), Karina Grimaldi (like the Martina Dress in Black), and Black Halo (like the Bustier Dress in Amber). This girl sure knows how to work the carpet, and she is still fresh on the scene! I think I have a new favorite. AnnaLynne confessed to OK! Lauren Conrad was spotted at Nylon Magazine's TV Issue Event featuring "90210" last night, September 4, at Tropicana Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel, sporting longer, wavier locks and the same exact dress in a different color that Shannen Doherty wore last night (gasp!). For a similar silky frock, check out Parameter's Henley Tunic in Dark Seagreen and Mini Dress in Navy, or LaROK's vibrantly patterned Tiva Dress in Multi. Looking tan and super toned, Eva Longoria Parker cruised her way around Los Angeles on September 2, looking as trim as ever in a cleavage boosting silver mini dress (like Ecoganik’s Grace Dress in Oatmeal or LaROK’s With the Band Dress in Grey) and her fav jewel encrusted flip flops (try OYE’s Vertigo Flip Flop in Gold). Eva met up with friends at the Farmer’s Market at the Grove, and it looks like she’s concentrating hard on her produce picks while clutching her plastic. Adding speculation to the rumors that she is with child, Eva once again donned a loose fitting dress that showed off her fabulous arms and petite legs but hides her tummy, leaving everyone to wonder whether or not she’s having Tony Parker's baby. For the Labor Day holiday, Eva spent her weekend in Vegas, attending a friend’s birthday bash at PURE nightclub after making an appearance at a restaurant opening. Though she partied with the Hilton sisters, the Desperate Housewives star insisted on drinking only water and refused to eat sushi when she attended the opening of the hot new restaurant at the Bellagio. How do you go to a sushi restaurant opening and not try the sushi, let alone go to Vegas and not have even one drink? Pregnancy would be a reasonable excuse! How does Forbes’ top earning actress of 2007 celebrate her birthday? By vacationing at the Four Seasons in the Maldives with her hot model boyfriend, and spending a few days snorkeling and kayaking, of course. After returning to the mainland, Cameron Diaz spent her b-day weekend shopping in Beverly Hills, presumably picking up some threads for her next rendezvous to NYC on Sept 2 with her beau, Paul Schulfor. The two spent the day together strolling around Soho handing hands, while Cam chatted away on her cell, looking as cool and calm as her monochromatic ‘fit. Wearing bright white cropped pants (like James Jeans’ Chad Cropped Pants in Ice White), with a cream cami (like Sine's Pebble Silk Blouse in Ivy) and her envious ivory Tod’s Hogan bag (check out Posse New York’s Beatriz Bag in Cream), it would be hard to miss the blonde What Happens in Vegas star walking down the street clad completely in white. One of the most intelligent actresses in the business (she did graduate from Harvard, afterall), natural beauty Natalie Portman made waves at the 65th Annual Venice International Film Festival taking place this weekend. Arriving by boat, Natalie attended the screening of her first short film, Eve, on September 1 in a non-competition slot of the festival. Nat’s debut flick stars former model Lauren Bacall and Ben Gazzara in a short story about a woman and her grandmother. I can’t wait to see what the critics think of Nat’s directing ability! Although she later glammed up the red carpet in a gorgeous fringed frock, Natalie arrived at the screening for her film looking every bit the natural, indie girl she is, fresh faced with her brown wavy locks flowing. Wearing a simple graphic tee (try Hank Vintage Threads’ Girly Silhouette V Neck Thermal in White) with tight rolled cuff jeans (similar to Desert Blue’s Water Element Jean in Tornado Dark Indigo, easy to cuff yourself) and funky, moccasin-meets-Vans earthy shoes, Nat carried a black envelope clutch (like Julie K’s Jessica Fold Over Clutch in Night Exotic) and shielded her peepers from the bright Venice sun with black Wayfarers (for a fun alternative on the classics, check out JeeVice’s Sassy in Black/G15). Last night, Natalie was honored to be the first recipient of the “Movie for Humanity Award,” a new genre created to honor dedicated humanitarians in the movie industry. Natalie accepted the award and a $50,000 check that will be donated to the charity of her choice – the Jane Goodall Institute in Tanzania, a non-profit with wide-ranging education and conservation programs. Natalie has worked with the organization to develop the TACARE Girls’ Scholarship Program, which allows women access to secondary and higher education, enabling recipients to pursue job opportunities not traditionally sought after by women in their impoverished homeland. Congrats, Nat!
